Sens once again got down 3-0 against the Penguins. You can't fault Gerber on any of the shots that got past him. Gone was the Gerber of the regular season, who would make a huge save and follow it up with an equally huge rebound. This series, Darth Gerber seems to be using the force to trap some of those.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly:
Good:
- We scored!
- Gerber's 49 save performance must have been some kind of playoff record!
- Coming back from a 3-0 defecit to tie. They did this showing character, and by scoring garbage goals. Exactly the kind of thing Sens fans have been asking from this team for months.
- Sens seemed to shut down Crosby, Hossa, and even Roberts today. (Although Crosby did end up with four assists... prick)
- Volchenkov played, broken head and all. He STILL blocked shots. I think we've finally found someone Chuck Norris would be afraid of.
Bad:
- 49 saves, but still not enough to win.
- Robitaille was still dressed. He played on the fourth line this time, but was a total non-factor.
- Commodore... how many mistakes do you really have to make? Two of the goals were totally your fault.
- I would hate to be Martin Lapointe right now
- The Pittsburgh powerplay is the freakin' all-star team, and our top three penalty killers are out! Man we need Alfie, Fisher, and Kelly back.
- Spezza got hurt early in the first period, and wasn't the same when he came back. He still turned the puck over badly two or three times, forcing Gerber to bail them out once again.
